Happy Halloween!

We just got back from going Trick or Treating around our neighborhood. Tristan got enough candy to last him a year (if mom, dad, and auntie don't eat it!) and Rylie had a great time cruising around and going to a few houses. It was fun to see Tristan actually understanding what he was saying and 'getting it'. We got home in time to pass out candy to some of our neighbors as well, which Tristan loves. He runs to the door when the bell rings and gives each kid a piece. When they say Thank You he says 'Your Welcome, Have Fun!" So cute! Unfortunately, Jay had to work tonight, but i am sure Tristan will tell him all about it when he gets home!

Like their costumes?! Yep, Auntie had a little influence on them, and they turned out so cute!

He Found His "Seams"

Jay likes to confuse his son. I asked Tristan where his belly button is, and he pointed to it. Then Jay asked him where his seams are. This is Tristan finding his ethereal seams.

Breakfast of Older Champions

The only way I can take vitamins is with a cup of coffee and a splash of soy milk. I'm getting old.

Update about Tristan

Yes, i am so very proud! Tristan has either told us or gone to the bathroom himself since yesterday. He is doing so well!! Although we have been training for so long this really is a big deal for us as he never really told us and definitely never went by himself. It is so cute because he is so proud of himself too! He goes around yelling, "I did it, I did it" all the time!

You know you're a Mom when...

Your son goes potty (first clue that you are a Mom, you use the word 'potty') standing up for the first time EVER by himself and it has totally made your day!

**Our babysitter just called and said she heard the toilet flush when she was getting Ry out of her highchair after lunch. Tristan ran out with his pants at his ankles yelling "I did it!!!". Oh my goodness, I am so excited! The toilet seat was up and no mess too!!**

In case you need clarification, we have been potty training Tristan since last March (25 months old). He has done very well, but has NEVER gone in and used the bathroom by himself. He also very rarely has told us when he has to go, we would just take him in. The last few weeks he has been having a lot more accidents than normal. So, i decided to teach him how to go standing up and he loves it. I put cherrios in the toilet for him to aim at and he gets all excited. So, yes.. this is monumental for us. I am a very proud Mom!!

Pumpkin Carving

We decided tonight was the night to carve 2 of our pumpkins. I think Tristan was more interested in eating his apple, and all Rylie wanted to do was kiss them.. but hey, it was fun. Jay did a great job carving and the finished product looked great. But if you ask Tristan, it was so, so, so, so scary!

Pumpkin Patch

We went on a family trip to a local pumpkin farm today and went on a hay ride, which Rylie loved! We also went in the field and picked a bunch of pumpkins. We got one for each of us, even one for Auntie Nicole, who is in town for the week.

Tortured!

This is what happens when Daddy makes you try on costumes! Poor kid!

Sink!

The kids got baths in the sink tonight. Rylie was a complete mess after spaghetti dinner so I planned to just give her a quick rinse but she loved it! Then Tristan saw her and wanted to join in on the fun! So funny! He is way too big for the sink bath... What do ya think??

Perfume

Tristan has become very resistant to naptime and bedtime lately. We usually let him at least start put in our bed and then move him to his room once he is asleep. The past few weeks he has been "exploring" what was in our room while we thought he was asleep. A few weeks ago I walked in to my room at night fully expecting to see Tristan asleep. Imagine my surprise when I saw baby lotion completely covering him from head to toe. I really should have taken his picture... His head was completely white.

Fast forward to yesterday... Jay asked Tristan to get his blanket and go upstairs for his nap. He says OK and heads to our room. It was quiet for a long (clue #1) time and then Jay heard a loud thud. He ran upstairs and opened our door to the overwhelming smell of my Ralph Lauren perfume! Tristan apparently got ahold of it and managed to get the top off and spilled it all over his head, body, blanket, and our bed. Nice. Seriously I like that scent but not enough to sleep in it!!! Needless to say the smell will not come out! Tristan got a bath and we washed his hair several times. No luck. Guess he will have to smell like a girl for awhile! :)

Isn't it funny.. When you put perfume on in the morning it rarely stays on the whole day. Then something like this happens and you wish the smell would just go away!!
