Hilarious

Tristan was a ringbearer in a wedding last weekend. Last Friday night we went to the rehearsal. Before I could catch him Tristan whipped his pants down and peed on the grass. Yes, I am serious. In front of everyone. I was so embarrassed, but still couldn't stop laughing. Better than peeing in his pants, I suppose and everyone there thought it was funny too. I didn't realize anyone actually got a picture of it until this little gem showed up in my email this morning. Hilarious. Ever since then Tristan is always asking to pee in the grass. Oh man.. ALL boy, that is for sure! I also attached a picture of Tristan looking super cute in his little tux. He hated putting that thing on, but he did look adorable!

They really do love eachother!

Held hands the whole way home from the babysitters house.

Putting Polar Bear to bed

Tristan is adorable. Last night while we were reading his Toddler Bible in bed Tristan decided it was time for Polar Bear to go to bed. He put him under the blankets, gave him a kiss, and asked him to pray. All the things we do with him before he goes to bed. It's so cute hearing him talk to his Polar Bear like he is a real person. Moments like these make up for so much... :)

Baby Frog

Jay took Tristan and Rylie outside tonight to play some golf. Tristan found this baby frog in the yard, as well as a huge beatle. He obviously wasn't afraid, unlike Rylie who freaks out at the site of any bug. Pretty cool

Mother's Day

Let me start off by saying i had a wonderful Mother's Day today. It all started with me getting to sleep in, while Jay made me pancakes and got the kids. It was great. It seems like no matter what we are always a little bit late to church on Sundays, and that KILLS me. I hate being late. Church started at 9:30 and we were out our door at 9:25am. Of course that makes me stress out a little (working on it) or maybe a lot. So, it was rush rush rush out the door and apparently Tristan could tell I was frustrated because right when we pulled out of the drive way he said "calm down, Calm down, CALM DOWN!" Wow, nothing like a 3 year old to really put things in perspective! He has never said that before either. I just looked at Jay and laughed. He was right, I needed to calm down. We went to church and then home for lunch and a NAP. Wonderful! Then Jay and Tristan made me a Mother's Day card that I love, complete with a Penguin and a family portrait. So precious. After that Jay cooked me a wonderful meal of mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, grilled corn and grilled filet mignon. It was so good! Then we went to ice cream with our neighbors and to the park to let the kids play for a bit. All in all it was a truly great day. God has blessed me so much and I am so thankful for my family. What a great day!

It's your choice!

Everyone in our family, including my kids... know I am the softy when it comes to discipline. But, after my mother in law's advice we have recently implemented the "Spanker Spoon". All you have to do is show Rylie this and she immediately obeys. It's magic. Ha!

Last night Tristan would not go to bed. Now, this is a normal occurance in our house. We put him in his bed he gets out and either goes to our room or comes downstairs. Both of which he knows he is not supposed to do. If Jay is home it happens a lot less, but he was closing last night so I was the one to put the kids to bed. Tristan must know I am a softy so he came downstairs twice last night. After the second time i brought him back upstairs and firmly told him if he came down again I would have to get the spanker spoon. That usually works, but not this time. He came down a third time and i immediately got the spoon and met him on the stairs. I told him he had a choice. He could go to bed or he could get a spank. Silence. I asked him 3 times. Then he responded with a smile, "Spank". Much to his dismay (and mine, because it was kind of cute and funny) i did spank him.. His face when from a big smile to a full out cry. I think he was partially stunned I actually went through with it. Needless to say, after his cry session he went to bed and stayed there. That'll teach him what choice to make. Well, let's hope so anyway. I'll let you know what happens tonight!!

**Update- Jay put Tristan to bed tonight. He didn't come out of his room. Not once. Figures.
