Mother's Day
Let me start off by saying i had a wonderful Mother's Day today. It all started with me getting to sleep in, while Jay made me pancakes and got the kids. It was great. It seems like no matter what we are always a little bit late to church on Sundays, and that KILLS me. I hate being late. Church started at 9:30 and we were out our door at 9:25am. Of course that makes me stress out a little (working on it) or maybe a lot. So, it was rush rush rush out the door and apparently Tristan could tell I was frustrated because right when we pulled out of the drive way he said "calm down, Calm down, CALM DOWN!" Wow, nothing like a 3 year old to really put things in perspective! He has never said that before either. I just looked at Jay and laughed. He was right, I needed to calm down. We went to church and then home for lunch and a NAP. Wonderful! Then Jay and Tristan made me a Mother's Day card that I love, complete with a Penguin and a family portrait. So precious. After that Jay cooked me a wonderful meal of mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, grilled corn and grilled filet mignon. It was so good! Then we went to ice cream with our neighbors and to the park to let the kids play for a bit. All in all it was a truly great day. God has blessed me so much and I am so thankful for my family. What a great day!

Chris needs to take some pointers from Jay! I got a mothers day card from Chris two days AFTER mothers day, and no card or anything from Zach! :( My "present" is a massage (spa day) that I'm doing in two weeks....but that's what I told Chris I wanted! Being my FIRST Mother's day I guess I was hoping for more of a fuss...oh well!
