Jesus Take the Wheel, Literally

Since when did they start making little religious icons at McDonalds?

Rites of Passage

In every culture, certain events and ceremonies mark the transition
from one stage in life to another. For example, in American culture
getting a driver's license, turning 21, or getting your first gray
hair are all marks of transition. Today, Tristan officially performed
the rite of passage from "baby" to full blown "kid": He drank the milk
leftover from his cereal bowl.

We love the Park!

Our kids LOVE the park. There is an elementary school across the street from our subdivision, and we like to take the kids there to play. There are 3 different playgrounds and they love it. It was so nice to take a walk as a family and hang out. Fun Times!

I Might Be Ahead of the Game

I just started classes last week after completing my first semester ever of summer school. I'm enjoying the courses: Intermediate French, Politics of the Middle East, Comparative Politics, Public Policy, Citizenship, and Campaigns and Elections. Maybe what makes them so enjoyable is my ignorance or lack of familiarity coupled with the immediate relevance and timeliness of the subject matter. I've kept up with my reading and managed to watch the Democratic National Convention (okay I tivoed it). I even already checked out books from the library to start research for a report due in December. Granted this is only the second week of classes, but I think I might actually be ahead of the game this time...
