25 weeks!

Feeling rather large and in charge.. but here you go.

25 weeks. Babies are doing great. I am seeing a specialist every 2 weeks to monitor the babies. Every other week to check my cervix to make sure it is not dialating and every other week to do an in depth ultrasound to check on their growth. So far, they are both measuring on schedule and just about the same weights which is a good thing. They are both head down, but i am having another C Section so that doesn't really matter. Ha! the specialist doctor says she thinks i will deliver between 34 and 36 weeks. Guess we will see how it goes. My goal is to keep them in long enough so they don't have to spend a considerable amount of time in the NICU, or none at all! I am feeling good for the most part and getting excited to meet Corban and Katelyn!

So Cute!

I got home from my bi monthly MOPS meeting to find a rather large package had arrived. Our in home childcare provider from Georgia (and friend!) sent a package of gifts for the twins as well as for Tristan and Rylie. She really went all out. Jay and I had been wondering what we were going to dress the twins in at the hospital and when Tristan and Rylie met them. Well, Christa has us taken care of! She got them the most adorable shirts. Big/Little Brother and Big/Little Sister. Jay loved them so much he immediately took a picture. Aren't these SO cute! Can't wait to get the kids all dressed in them and take a picture. She also bought the twins a few outfits, adorable bibs, blankets, pacifier holders.. i told you.. she went all out. What a blessing for sure! Thank you Christa, what a great surprise! We LOVE everything and can't wait to see the twins wearing the outfits.. you can be sure we will take lots of pictures!

Be thankful!

I spoke to a dear friend a few days ago and she mentioned something that stuck with me. She spoke of being thankful for the small things in life. Perhaps, the things that are so easy to take for granted. Like, having a roof over your head, groceries in the fridge, toilet paper (!), and my healthy kids. Being thankful for my kids is the one that struck out to me the most. Now, of course i love my children.. but in some way i think i have taken them for granted to a certain degree. I have healthy, beautiful children. They drive me crazy most days.. being thankful for them alone has really hit me today. I want to be thankful even if they are on my last nerve or have made yet another mess, or are asking 5 thousand questions. I am thankful that they are alive. Lately, i have also gone bog hopping around to different blogs where people have very serious problems with their children's health. Like life threatening problems that have taken their children already or will soon unless God intervenes. I find myself crying while reading these stories and i feel so bad for ever complaining about what my kids do. Anyway, all this to say.. be thankful today. be thankful for the health you have and the home that keeps you warm. Be thankful for your families and that they are alive to say they love you each day. This applies to my unborn children as well. To the twins growing inside of me. God knows that i am terrified of the thought of having two newborns and two toddlers to take care of. Some days i really get caught up in that. I get overwhelmed wondering how i will do it. The truth is.. i will. God will give me the strength and somehow i will get through it. Right now though, i am reminded to be thankful that i am pregnant. To be thankful for the miracles inside of me. to be thankful that i have had no miscarriages or any real issues during my pregnancies, aside from high blood pressure. There are SO many people who are not able to get pregnant at all, and for Jay and I.. it is just pretty easy. Anyway, i am reminded today to just be thankful for the small things.. This is my goal.

It's A.....................................

Boy and a Girl!! We can't believe it! We had our ultrasound this morning where the doctor told us we were 100% having a boy within the first 30 seconds of doing the ultrasound. It took a little longer for him to find out what the second one was, but looked all over before determining it was a girl. So, we decided to name them Corbin Jay and Katelyn Elaine. Very cute! Honestly, I was very nervous about having girl/girl twins. Not that i don't like being a twin myself with another girl, but growing up it was pretty hard. Having a boy and girl will make sure they really do have their own identities. So excited!

Update

Ok, I know it has been entirely too long since I have given an update. A lot has happened since Halloween! We spent an entire week in Lake Tahoe with Jay's family for thanksgiving. It snowed one of the days we were there and the kids were in absolute heaven! We also took them to a snow park where they got to sled with their aunties and uncles and they just loved that too. (I will post pictures once i find where i put my camera!) It was a great time. Well... great except for the fact that I got really sick and that part of the week was just miserable. But, all in all it was a good trip and so great to see all of the family together at the same time. We also celebrated Christmas at the same time so the kids got all kinds of nice gifts. My sister came out this past weekend and offered to watch the kids for a night so Jay and I could have an extended date. It was great for us to have that time by ourselves. We had spent the few days before going through old emails that we wrote eachother before we were dating and all the way up until we got engaged. It was a great time. This Tuesday we are moving into our new place. I am sad to say we have not started packing, not at all. Sad. I think it is just all the memories of packing up our house in Georgia, or just being pregnant.. but i am so not motivated! I am however excited about the new place.. it is going to be great for us. Speaking of pregnancy, I am nearly 15 weeks and feeling good. No more morning sickness and I am not as exhausted as i was before. Started the second trimester last week. Jay and I are super anxious to find out the sex of these babies and to ultimately meet them. It is sinking in more and more for me that we are having twins and the thought of two newborns is quite overwhelming. But, i know that God will be our strength and we will get through it. So.. that is what is up with us.. since I am sure you were all just dying to know.
